Current Bylaws

The Bylaws of the International Association for Bear Research and Management (IBA) define the organization’s mission, structure, and responsibilities, guiding its efforts to promote bear conservation globally. As a nonprofit organization, the IBA is committed to advancing scientific understanding and supporting the effective management of the world’s eight bear species. Through collaboration with governments, wildlife biologists, and conservationists, the IBA aims to address the challenges of habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and population decline. The Bylaws also establish the IBA’s relationship with key partners like the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and outline the goals of facilitating research, education, and professional development to ensure the long-term survival of bears in the wild.
