“A female polar bear yawns silhouetted against a blazing orange sky this fall in Churchill, Manitoba. After waiting several hours watching her and her two second year cubs napping and nursing intermittently, the family rose and made their way inland for the night towards areas less affected by wind. As the cubs disappeared beyond the horizon, the mother stopped and turned back one last time to check her surroundings before following her young.”
