IBA’s $10,000 Match for Bears

Join Us in Making a Difference!

The International Association for Bear Research and Management (IBA) is excited to announce our $10,000 Matching Challenge Grant! Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar you donate until 31 December 2025, will be matched up to $10,000! That means your gift will have twice the impact for bear conservation.

Why This Matters

Bears around the world face growing challenges, including habitat loss, climate change, conflict with humans, and threats to their survival. The IBA works to conserve the world’s eight bear species through funding critical conservation research, URSUS publications, international conferences, educational resources, and other programs that help bears worldwide.

Last year’s Matching Challenge Grant supported IBA’s mission to help bears through our multiple conservation programs.

Some of these programs include grants that funded the first-ever camera trap assessment of Andean bear distribution in Peru’s coastal desert, studies on sloth bear conflict and connectivity in India, and human–Asiatic black bear interactions in the Eastern Himalayas. The matching grant also supported our critical conservation programs for peer-reviewed research in our journal, Ursus (25 articles published), IBA’s International Conference in Canada with 400 attendees, including 84 students and young professionals, and publication of our International newsletter.

Every donation, no matter the size, plays a vital role in helping us achieve our goals. Together, we can make an even greater impact!
