Abstract Deadline Extended to February 7th-Eastern Black Bear Workshop

Mark your calendars! The 26th Eastern Black Bear Workshop, hosted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is happening April 7–11, 2025, at the High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid, NY. This year’s theme is “The Next Generation of Black Bear Management,” focusing on innovation and adaptation in the field of bear management.

Session topics may include: 

  • Manager’s Forum: Lessons from Over the Hill 
  • Community Co-Management to Address Human-Bear Conflict 
  • The Role of Social Science in Bear Management 
  • Untangling Factors That Influence Bear Harvest & Conflict

You can now submit your abstracts for oral presentations, panel discussions, facilitated discussions, and other formats of interest. The abstract deadline is now extended to February 7th, 2025. You can submit yours by using this link.
