27th IBA Conference Goes Virtual
While we were all hoping that a hybrid conference format would be feasible, the IBA Conference Organizing Committee recently made the difficult decision to make the 2021 conference planned for Kalispell, Montana an entirely virtual event. The continued uncertainty surrounding the pandemic creates too much financial risk to host a hybrid event and presents logistical challenges that would severely limit participation from outside the U.S. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these challenges. Below please find important details regarding the conference.
Given international attendance and preference to avoid full-day sessions, the Conference Program Committee decided to spread conference sessions over 6 partial days and at times that accommodate multiple time zones: 14-16 September 2021 (original dates) and 21-23 September 2021.
Registration for the virtual conference will be through Cvent. IBA members will receive an email with further details when registration opens. If you were previously registered for the in-person conference, you will be fully reimbursed and will need to register again for the virtual event. Refunds will be processed over the next few weeks and we will contact you if we need more information to refund your registration.

IBA wants to make sure this event can be attended by all IBA members. IBA will have small grants available for IBA members who are eligible for registration assistance grants in place of the regular travel grants. The application period for these small grants is open from 1 June – 15 July 2020. Online Registration Assistance Grant Application.
IBA recognizes that registration costs can be prohibitive and wants to ensure all IBA members can attend our fist virtual conference. If you are an IBA member and need assistance with registration costs, we encourage you to apply for a Virtual Travel Grant. All IBA members are eligible to receive a registration grant depending on the available funding.
If applying for a registration travel grant, please wait to register for the conference until you are notified of your grant status. If awarded a grant, we will provide you with a unique code to use for conference registration with the amount of your grant award. We cannot wire or mail checks for these grants.
Please visit the conference website for regular updates and information.
